Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
Regarding probiotics, I have taken them for several years now. As far as taking them with other supplements or medications... they usual recommendation is if you are on an anti-biotic of any kind, you will want to space it out several hours. I also found that taking them at night, about an hour after I was finished eating for the night, helped. It allows the good bacteria to repopulate in the GI system then before the acid and everything kicks back into gear in the morning.
I hope this helps some and that things begin to improve soon.
