Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
Have you tried juicing or any protein type drinks? They may be helpful. Also, I found personally potatoes where okay, as was white fish (skinless, baked).
If it doesn't hurt, you could try (to gain weight) fat fishes, advocatos, olives and oils like canola. Rice and pasta are also very good.
Think that this illness can be an opportunity to eat very healthy food that are good for other parts of your body
This used to be a big problem for me in the first year or so of my gastritis, but not now.
You can with 100% certainty eat cottage cheese (with sugar sprinkled into it for edibility). It contains protein, it is a natural antacid and a probiotic/stomach comforter. In Russian stores it's sold under name "TVOROG" ("").
Most importantly, buy Gastromend HP, Ulcetrol and Dr's Best PepZin GI.
You shouldn't be stuck for 9 months at this stage.
In my experience I was stuck for several months and dropped 30lbs, resulting in inguinal hernia due to rapid weight loss... and the reason was, H2 blockers weren't actually HEALING the stomach, just reducing damage to the lining, and every little "food mistake" I'd make would set me back by 2 weeks.
PepZin GI was clinically proven to shield stomach lining and increase its recovery speed threehold. It is like a band-aid for your stomach and I strongly recommend it to everyone with gastritis, because it WORKS, and it's been working in Japan since the mid-90s, while in America it's largely unheard of.
I lost weight too but very little. For breakfast I eat one cup of oatmeal with one raw or cooked banana and a few walnuts on tops (I started with very few). For lunch or dinner, I eat one cup of starches (rice, potatoes, quinoa, millet, ...) with a piece of lean chicken, lean fish, shrimps, tofu or tempeh. I cook with a little bit of olive oil and add one cup of cooked vegetables or a vegetable juice (no tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, garlic or onion). As a snack in between I eat melon or watermelon (even better as a juice to avoid the fibers) with a fresh coconut water.
I added a nutritional supplement which seems to be helping.

Does anyone notice that their teeth kind of ache or are sensitive during a gastritis attack?
