Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
Other things in that area are your bile duct which could be spasmodic or your gallbladder. I know it's not right there but it is it nerve pain it can travel.
My pain was dead center like yours and it ended up being a gallbladder full of sludge. Normal testing like ultrasound doesn't see it, they finally found it with a hida scan. The gastritis was from the lack of gall getting where it needed to be coupled with my taking ppi meds at the time when they really weren't needed.
Your liver could be fatty and that's not really unusual. I had lots of fat on mine before bariatric surgery and cleaned it right out in 4 months by drinking lots of marshmallow root tea, about a quart a day, and taking milk thistle. I've kept it clean for 2 yrs with marshmallow root tea. My liver enzymes are actually better than they need to be. Marshmallow root tea is also exceptionally soothing for IBS. I drink mine warm or cold, never hot. You can get the bulk herb or buy tea bags on amazon or at local herbal shops.
I just came back from the doctors and got a specific result. I have a hiatal hernia and my stomach is mildly inflamed so he put me on another round of antibiotics. I explained to him the issues I have, again, behind my naval and right side and he said he believes it is IBS. Hate that term as it is such a broad term for the underlying problem. He said I might need to do the FodMap diet, but before doing anything now, to only do the antibiotics and see if in two weeks I am any better. Please I hope so. Not sure about this FodMap diet. I heard it was very difficult.
Btw, my duodenum he says was fine or they would have mentioned in the report. Funny as I was being strolled out of the surgery room all the surgeon said was that your stomach is severely inflamed then I go to my GP and he says no report says a hernia and mild stomach inflammation. Saw the pictures too, was red. Ugh, yeah...
How does the FodMap Diet work? Is it hard to do and will i be able to eventually go back to eating eggs or is there tons of food that I can never eat again? Any medicines that help cure IBS?
For me the biggest help for ibs is keeping things moving. I had ibs d for years and it switched over to ibs c when I stopped eating gluten. I find taking 400mg of magnesium twice a day helps.
