Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
Ive been taking Lansoprazole,not sure of American name, 2 a day for about 3 weeks now. Ive not seen any difference since going on this as its just as bad as when on Pantoprazoles. Ive tried taking Slippery elm sometimes at night but last night I had some reflux after. Today I have some really bad pain. Ijust think my gastritis is getting worse and I don,t know what to do. I now can,t blame one paticular thing so Im just scared. I have my gastro appoinment in January. I just wish that I had never taken Naproxen tablets that gave me all the stomach trouble in the first place.
I am having the same issue you are - but mine is with the Pantoprazole (sp?)...... I was taking Lansprazole for over a year and it worked great...until one day it just stopped working. (Before that I had been taking Omeprazole....until it, too, stopped working...) I have been on the Pantoprazole for about a month and there has only been very small improvement......
