Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
I also had really bad reactions to the PPi and Zantac. What sort of side effects did you have. I had Really bad indigestion pain...like a big elastic band around my chest and stomach. They also mad me really depressed and tired. Did you come off them cold turkey??...if so what was the rebound like for you. I came off cold turkey and the rebound was painful...very bad side pain and acid. I'm still suffereing the under rib acid burn now...scared the gastritis is back..going to see GP on monday!....Are you healed from the gastritis now?..Prays to all
side effects, chest pain, pain under left rib burning stomach, weight loss, back pain, foggy brain, loss of balance, dizzy, a fib with rapid pulse. fatigue. some panic or nervousness, About the only system I didn't have was heart burn or burning in the throat. Am I healed.. I don't know.. probably not but I am doing pretty good and only have problems when off the diet. I do have other issues with this as I have an autoimmune problem that is attacking my gastrointestinal system giving me gastritis, ibs and pernicious anemia. the anemia is causing a lot of problems in its self with the stomach and nerves etc. Malabsorption of vitamins and minerals. I have to take B12 everyday for the rest of my life and I am also taking a few other supplements but they are much better than taking the meds and their side effects. No more ER for me.
I too have Gastritis. I was diagnosed back in March when I had an endoscopy done for a different reason. I had no symptoms until the end of April when it hit hard. I feel nauseous 80% of the time, and the pain is unbearable; it sits right in the middle under my breastbone and above my belly button (feels like the worst case of heartburn ever). My doctor gave me Norco for the pain, which I only take half at a time - a while pill makes me feel sick in other ways. I'm taking an H2 blocker, Mylanta, Tums, Licorice Root, a Probiotic. I've been eating a pretty bland diet for months now; I've gone from 112lbs to 105lbs..and yet, the pain won't go away. Some days aren't as bad as others but the pain is always there. My doctor hasn't been very helpful and is actually treating me like I'm bothering her when I ask for help with my pain. I have an appointment with the G.I. doctor but the earliest they can get me in is August 24th.
I'm tired! I go to bed every night, scared of how the next day is going to go. I toss and turn from the pain, so sleep doesn't come easy. I'm hungry! I WANT FOOD! I know it sounds bad, but I want something greasy and yummy and completely bad for you lol.
I feel like I'm too young for this crap (I'll be 34 next Saturday). I sit and think that this is never going to go away and I'll never be 'normal' again.
I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy!
Has anyone else found something that may help ease the pain?
I'm not sure if the GI is going to want to do another endoscopy, but I can't. I spent over $3,000 OUT OF POCKET for the first one. Hopefully he can get me started on a path to relief. The waiting is excruciating though. I want relief now.
I know you all know how I feel. This is actually really scary stuff. I don't know about anyone else but I've almost completely convinced myself that I have cancer or something and I'm going to die (my mind wanders...)
Prayers for everyone ♡
