At first, it started with a loss of appetite (which may actually be related to my depression/anxiety), which led me to cut down on eating. Eventually, loss of appetite turned to nausea/gagging and pain in my stomach when I ate. One day, I thought I had the flu. Then I threw up. For a couple days, I was sick, but then I felt better and returned to my regular eating habits. Then, I had a weird reaction from eating some food, and I thought I had food poisoning. The symptoms were worse this time. But after I felt better, it was back to the same eating habits. This cycle continued until I finally went to the doctor, and was prescribed some medication, which I stopped using once I thought I was better. Then I got sick again. Eventually, I got a bunch of tests done and an endoscopy, and was diagnosed with gastritis, but no h. pylori. I am now on omeprazole.

My therapist thinks putting me on anti-anxiety meds will help, as she thinks the anxiety/stress is a big driving factor here. Personally, I use weed to help with appetite and anxiety.

But what do you think? Should I try anti-anxiety meds? Drug addiction runs in my family, and I'd be afraid to get physically addicted to something. I can go without weed. Right now I do a couple of hits every now and then either to ease nausea or pain or anxiety a bit, but thats not all the time. The days that I go without a little harder because I become so much more aware of my stomach issues, but as long as I take my meds and watch what I eat it's not that bad.

I don't always have the money to buy weed, but the meds would be covered by my insurance. I'm scared, I don't know. I'm sick of this.
