Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
Hello!
I am new to this forum and am thankful I found it! I have Bile Reflux disease and will have Gastritus forever it's looking like. No blockages or stones were found during CAT scan so I must have a leaky pyloric valve letting the bile back into my stomach. The bile eats away at my stomach lining then.
I am deficient in Vit B12, Iron and Vit D. When I take those supplements, I get stomach aches for hours. I am trying to take one of the 3 every day so the pain doesn't get too bad. I am taking them 2 hours before a Prilosec dose hoping that it will stop the pain. Ironically enough, it's the Prilosec that has made me deficient in B12 and Iron! It halts the absorption of those 2 things.
It seems like the common denominator is magnesium stearate- that is in all of those pills. I can't seem to find any pills WITHOUT magnesium in them:(
Have you folks ever found a iron or B12 or Vit D that didn't hurt your Gastritus and cause you pain? I can't take multi vitamins either but that's because of the Vitamin C in them. Have you ever found a multi vitamin with no C in it?

I'm in Australia and the supplements I use are made here or NZ. I'll happily give you brands but if your in the US I suspect it won't do you much good. I didn't take any vitamins for the first couple of weeks and had to ease back in to them by taking them every other day. I manage them all now but am still only taking half the magnesium I should. I'm cautious about it but I have no problems now.
