Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
Hi im a 19 year old female in need of help and advice. Ive been suffeering with gastritis for the past month due to taking medication for a long period of time. I was prescribed medication for my fractured spine i got from a car accident in january, two lumbar bones are fractured and i was taking methocarbamol and ibuprofen along with another 4 prescirbed meds but i only took those for 2 months, after since i never got another check up i stopped taking the other 4 and i had access to the other two ive just been taking;methocarbamol and ibuprofen. Along with that when i didnt take the medication, i endured the uncomfortable pain and i would drink alittle alcohol to the point im buzzed and do some cocaine but not that much.... i also smoke alot too, weed and tobacco... its been 6 months since the accident but the doctors said itll heal in 6 months. i was supposed to get another checkup 2 weeks after i got out but didnt... i felt pretty fine but the spine is an important part of you body in which ive learned. Anyway because of a low grade insurance mt primary doctor couldnt do an assessemnt on me and told me to go to the ER, i didnt go cause my mom didnt take me and went to cambodia for like 2 months. Anyway.. the past month i really had to go to the ER this one night because after i took a 400 mg ibuprofen which is found in advil in the morning my stomach just started hurting unbearably it hurt to sleep on my side and deep inhale, it felt like something was blocking everything and too much pressure on my stomach. They diagnosed me with a kidney infection and said i have gastritis. i also told them if they can do a checkup on my spine but they couldnt because i had to see a bone doctor which i am referred to on the 31st of this month. Well ive been suffering from the symptoms of gastritis with diarrhea everytime i wake up, i cant eat certain foods, can laugh cause it flares up and pressure, cant cry cause i hyperventilate and i deal with generalized anxiety. They prescribed me a pepcid called famotidine and this liquid antacid. I havent been smoking tobacco because i just cant bear it but i have been smoking weed every now and then not comsuming so much because my primary doctor said not to smoke anything but i did online research some saying its okay and not to swallow the smoke. although it does relief the pain im not sure it affects it alot... Idk sometimes recently, i feel the pain on my left side of shoulder i know because the stomach lining or whatever is connected to the esophagus and the bacteria is proabbly affecting it. Idk someone helo ive been strict with my diet and everything as well. i know i probably shouldnt smoke but i really need more details and how it affects it some say its ok some say not and some say it healed them. My gastritis symptoms cause me burping all the time and it does feel like its dissolving but i still feel the dull pain when i deep inhale and i cant laugh because i start to belch and and hold the side of my stomach. sometimes i feel normal but i do get flare ups and i just would like to know how much longer will i experience this. Someone please give me advice im depressed please.....
