Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
yes you should remain to a diet, therefore you can tell for sure if eating tomato in your helathy diet really harms you or not. i try eating healthy and once in a while add a cookie or a piece of chocolate and i feel the same, but at least i enjoyed my snacks for once!
Yes, this is an annoying condition! Patience will take you far. Start with 'dietary suggestions' (type in the search box), and read past posts here on food suggestions, medications, etc.--you'll find a wealth of info.
I was diagnosed the end of July. I'm just now starting to feel less pain, but I still have to watch my diet.
Don't be afraid to phone your doctor's office and ask any questions. Even make an appointment to talk to him/her if it helps.
We are here for you! I pray for everyone on this site. Best wishes.
Welcome, and I'm sorry to hear you're suffering right now.
Unfortunately gastritis can take awhile to heal. My experience is that you need to be on the right amounts of the right meds, carefully eat the right foods, and be really patient. And it's a good idea to find ways to de-stress.
I agree with others here - if you haven't seen a doctor you like already, you may want to so you're getting the best advice.
And even people a bit older than you can get really frustrated about the social limitations of having gastritis ;-)
