Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
Don't beat yourself up over the past. There is no way you could have known. That is what you are supposed to do when you feel bad, go to the Doctor.
I too, often wonder as well if I had just stayed on Pepcid AC instead of going to my GP, would I be in a different boat right now. Sadly, there is no point in dwelling on it.
The truth is, you will not know until you get scoped, you do not know what is going on and you will go off into different directions and stress yourself out even more.
I am sure it is not a chronic condition. Remember, this is only temporary. You will get better.
Also, look into 'Dropping Acid' cook book. I have been using that and have tolerated it fairly well.
