Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
For me this is day 17. I was wondering about other's experiences. Actually my husband has been nagging me to see the doctor and I'm dragging my feet, hoping the end of the flare-up is in sight. I'm mostly doing the right things - you know, bananas, farina, PPIs, Aloe juice, less aggravation, etc. I really don't want and can't afford another scope. I'm skitzy because they almost broke my neck one time and that scared me.

My first bout last year lasted about 3 months after I began medicating with diet change and a double dose of ppi daily.
This current bout I'm in has lasted 5 months and I'm just now beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I know of others and some on here who have battled a year or longer with this stuff. Some fight it for years.
I think your hubby is right. Go see your GI if you don't get relief soon. Perhaps they can get you on the right track.
