Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
Funny they don't mention flaxseed tea.when this first hit me it was the only drink I could get down..that and marshmallow root tea
Then to add insult to injury.. last night I took in a deep breath and I think I pulled some cartilage in my ribs. Now just the lightest touch along my ribs starts the pain. My diaphragm seems so tight I can hardly get in a deep breath. I'm just not sure which specialist I should bring all this to. Is it nerve pain from neurological problems, is it gastric, is it my thyroid, is it just skeletal stuff since I lost so much weight? I dunno.
Also, not for nothing but both broccoli and cabbage make a lot of gas and for me anyway, gassy foods are not good at all for my gastritis...
Something in the cabbage juice interferes with thyroid hormons so you become hypothyroidic. The effect is temporary but very unpleasant. If the cabbage is cooked, that is fine but it does not work as well for the stomach. You can probably find more on the Internet.
Cabbage is not good for IBS though.
