Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
I have maple or date syrup instead now, but I'd rather be having the honey for the alleged health benefits.
I think "diluting" the honey in oatmeal or yoghurt is preferable to having it on it's own.
I ate chicken for two days straight and now i've been sick again. Ugh I want to eat meat!! My stomach feels bloated and raw today, this sucks. The worst part is I am raising about 100 chickens and some pigs this year, not to mention tons of organic veggies and fruits. I really want to be able to eat the fruits of my labor!
Don't forget the mind. Gastritis is a typical thing for stress, anxiety and depression.
Start adding small quantities of protein in form of mashed egg half an hour after eating oatmeal.
Then maybe replace mashed egg with baked salmon.
Eventually you will be able to eat mashed potatoes followed by plain boiled chicken. It's not a long jump.
Adding crap "for taste" to chicken or using other method than boiling, is what usually makes it hard to digest.
I love my eggs though, and i raise chickens so theyre free!
just hatched 20 new baby chicks today actually.
anyways, what about carrots? i love boiled carrots, are they okay to digest? worth a try?
You're lucky eating eggs - they continue to bother me, but I persist in having about 1 a week. Chicken is ok for me though - if eaten after or alongside starchy carbs as described by Shihonage.
Carrots should be fine. Try them. I try & think about weaning a baby onto solids for mild & gentle foods. Things like carrots, butternut squash, sweet potatoes are often "first foods". If they're gentle enough for babies they can often suit gastritis.
