Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

that calculator works well. and then just make sure you eat an excess amount of calories a day. all the food you listed are all low calorie foods. fish and chicken for example.
and then if you walk two miles a day yet, then you probably burn a lot of calories doing that too.
I use to love custard before gastritis. Fats are very hard to digest if you have gastritis. I'd love to make some custard do you have the recipe, I have no problems with eggs.
I have no problem eating low fat Greek yogurt, but if I eat the ones with fats, I get a stomach ache.
My dietician told me to drink V8 juice I think that too acidity for me.
I have no problems with cheeses either, had a grilled cheese sandwich the other day. Being gluten free can't eat pastas, the gluten free ones are low fat. I use to love egg noodles but can't eat any more, I've tried the gluten free one they taste yucky.
Thanks for all your suggestions.
I saw my doctor two days ago after a stomach MRI. They found nothing new.. nothing bad. He said all the symptoms are just the gastritis. He told me I MUST start eating. Well.... I AM eating. The nutrients and calories are just not sticking. Made me kind of mad. It's not that I WON'T eat... just CAN'T sometimes. I eat a little bit and feel full. Or wake up nauseous and have to let it pass before eating.
I am going to get a protein supplement and see if that helps. In the meantime, my teeth hurt. Kind of sting. I assume this is from the reflux. It's possible this is a nerve pain from my MS. I'd like to know if anyone here gets that symptom.
Hope you gain soon. It's a bummer.
