Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
As far as vitamins, my nutritionist recommended that people with gastritis take chewable ones. She said the vitamins get absorbed right through the cheeks and into the bloodstream. She said that is much better than having our stomachs digest some huge vitamin pill.
Hope this provides some direction for you, best of luck.
Also, probiotic was just wondering since a lot of people say they work and a lot of people say they don't (stomach wise).
Also, not to create a new post but if anyone reads this, has anyone had any success with drugs like amitriptyline for hypersensativiity?>
Could you describe the type of pain you were experiencing and elaborate a little more on what type/how much relief it gave you with respect to that? I've been thinking about asking for a script and this has always been on the back of my mind. Oh and what dose were you on?
