Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
"I am really nervous and feel alone. I have been so sick for awhile, and now I feel like I'm literally starving myself. I just want to be normal again! Sorry for the vent, but I am really needing some answers".
Hopefully, you have a good doctor who will listen and be understanding. And I hope you will get the help you need:)
1. What is your recommendation for a plan of action to get as many of my issues as possible healed? Can we put it on paper so I can see if I am progressing as we should expect and I can advise otherwise?
2. Are there any surgical interventions you feel will be necessary (gallbladder) or helpful (hiatal hernia repair)?
3. Do you have a food plan that you advise I use, and any supplements?
4.Because I have other autoimmune diseases, could this be autoimmune gastritis and if it were, would you treat it any differently? (why have an egd biopsy if s/he wont...)
5. Will you assist me in getting food intolerance testing?
Ok that last one... s/he will not, most likely. For that you will need a naturopath (the professional who ultimately put my gastritis into remission when gastro could not) I am entirely convinced that food intolerances play 90% of the role in causing and maintaining gastritis. Mine started with gallbladder issues as well, they removed it and unknown to me I became dairy intolerant immediately and the rest of my food intolerances like gluten and eggs became very much worsened. It was not until my ND did my food testing through Alcat that I knew what to avoid and started to heal. The only med I have taken for my stomach at all for the past 18 months is Kios Ds, a natural supplement to balance acid. My gastro is so amazed he is now telling folks to see a naturopath and take this stuff....
wishing you a good visit, hoping they listen and give you a plan...
