Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
I'm sorry about the pain you're in. Been on the same boat for 5 weeks on and off. I was diagnosed with h Pylori and gastritis and immediately begun the triple therapy antibiotics for 7 days then the PPI's for 4 weeks...other than the usual foods advised by doc. not to take - carbonated drinks, coffee, alcohol, spicy foods & milk, I discovered others that set me off - such as tomatoes, cashews, onions...it's always trial & error.
What I've been doing is managing my diet - biting/drinking something every 2 hrs...plain yogurt, a banana, an apple etc. Can't eat much and this has contributed to weight loss. I avoid having an empty stomach in-spite of lack of appetite. Sometimes it just flares by itself and I'm down for like 3 hrs....gnawing stomach pain...nausea...vomiting...weakness Aaah! But most days I'm managing.
Oh! I take probiotics 1st thing in the morning before breakfast - 50 billion bacteria, and any other time i feel like the stomach wants to flare. Also been taking Black seed oil 1st thing in the morning past few days. I drink fresh organic meat soup like once a day as well - on & off.
I guess we have to manage this and listen to our guts - literally.
Happy healing - stay stress free...the mind is also key to control.
