Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
This is one place you need never apologise for having a whinge. Gastritis is under estimated by doctors as to the severity of the pain and it's possible duration. It can take months for the severe pain to ease and years to heal. Sadly weight loss is normal and as a thin person there wasn't much left of me with my loss of weight.
The best thing for now is to eat bland foods and keep your portion sizes small. And eat maybe four to five times a day. It took me a long time but I have my foods and life back.
