Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
When my gastritis & ulceration was horrific in the early days I used to get hyperventilation. The gastro explained that my diaphragm was splinting/having spasms because my stomach/duodenum was so inflamed... so the diaphragm didn't want to press downwards... this lead to shallow breathing & rapid heartbeat/palpitations... & a whole load of other anxiety-like symptoms...
I'm not sure if that sounds similar or relevant to what you're describing. Nowadays I do get stomach/intestinal spasms sometimes, but that is very different to the hyperventilation stuff.
Try & avoid the tomato sauce & spicy stuff, or your gastritis will never stand a chance of healing.
I hope you feel better soon!
Now I'm to the point where I can be up and doing things for a while before I have to hit the couch. No palps or breathing trouble anymore. Even cleaned up some old wood the other day and put up a fence around the garden! was even chucking heavy pieces on the trailer which I would not have even dared to do a month or two ago. Then of course the electrical system went on my old piece of crap tractor and I had to walk all the way back to the house for jumper cables..actually jogged back part way and my stomach was fine after! not going to push it though but lord oh lord I want to eat some meat already and lift some weights, 115 pounds is not where I want to be haha
