Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
Today is five years since my stomach decided to explode with gastritis. I've learnt so much along the way and am grateful for the lessons and gifts I've received. I've discovered how wonderful and supportive my family and friends are.
I've learnt many things about myself and discovered a relationship with food I'd never know. Being grateful as each old ingredient made its way back into my life.
I'm most grateful for new friendships gained through this experience and one very special one in particular.
I'm beyond grateful and thankful for this support group. Many, many times the people here have glued me back together.

I pray you regain as much of your old life back as possible and soon.
Congratulations and thank you for sharing. I've been with it for six years. For the most part, I haven't had problems, but when I go through a flare and the weight seems to melt off, I get full of anxiety. I have to tell myself that I've been tested and they found gastritis. Did you lose weight? If so, did you gain it back? That's the part that really gets to me.
I'm trying my best to regain my life back.

Once under control there is plenty of life even with gastritis. I've had it for 4 years.
