Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
I'm pretty sure most people with gastritis are exhausted. There are meds for fatigue, but you will have to talk it over with your doctor. The MS people use Provigil a lot.
When you're healing, you should regain ability to consume proteins. Eggs, salmon, boiled chicken. You can't survive on oatmeal-type diet.
This condition isn't a joke, and weakening of your body can open you to a host of diseases. Not to mention that low energy compromises your focus, ability to drive, and such.
It's time to stop playing around.
As I said before, I do believe you should jump to the aforementioned Zantac+PepZin GI regimen immediately, without testing the waters as to whether you can "survive without Zantac".
You'll be able to tell within days if you feel better. If the problem was correctly identified, then your nausea/dizziness will go away, for starters.
Try to have at least 30min interval around Zantac 150 intake where you don't consume food. 1hr is preferred, but we don't live in the ideal world...
As for Zantac I have it and used it once.It gave me a major anxiety attack at night and brought my period over after 2 weeks(I have uterine fibroids and bleed a lot)Same with Pepcid.
I know people who healed from ulcers by using merely stomach coatings like Carafate AND natural stuff after years on PPIs
I know its doable
You cant suppress stomach acid because you need it for digestion.I already have digestive issues I guess that's why Im constipated:)
No and yes. You do need some of it for digestion, which is why Zantac only suppresses up to 70% of it, with its effectiveness lowering over time, as your tolerance increases.
Chances are, your doctor will put you on Nexium+Carafate combo, which is worse than Zantac+PepZin GI combo in many respects.
At least, try taking 4-6 of these as you start eating:

Also consider taking Chlorella for fixing the bowel environment.
I have nothing more to add at this point... good luck.
I have my 3rd apt with her tomorrow.Mabe she will come up with sth new.Lets see.Og I will ask her about Pepzin GI.
So far Im using ACV in the morning, dgl before lunch and dinner, slippery elm before bed and pepto bismol as needed for hunger pangsSince I am back on my diet I didn't really need pepto
Thank you Shihonage.I appreciate all your efforts.
How acidic is that? I have posted about this before.
If you ingest acid then you will activate the proteolytic enzyme pepsin in your stomach. This is fine in a healthy stomach, but with gastritis the pepsin will cause further damage to your lining.
