Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

Have an endoscope tomorrow.

Been having issues for the last 4 months with my stomach. Been told an ulcer or gastritis.

Been on Protonix, Dexilant, Prilosec, Prevacid, Zantac and haven't seen much relief with any.

I'm a bit worried about the results. Always fear that it's cancer.

Symptoms seem to wax and wane. From a painful stomach, then to bloating, and then to some other new sensation.

How long does it take to get results? They are testing h.pylori as well.

I knew the same day. They showed me color photos of my stomach with a written report. H. Pylori results came later. Best wishes to you.

I knew mine the same day as well since I was admitted. Sometimes you gotta give the ppi up to 12 weeks to really see some improvement. They say dexilant is the best out there. For me dexilant took 14 weeks before I saw some mild improvement in my pain. For others within a few days they see drastic improvement. I guess it all depends on the body. It's good that you are going for scope. Best to get the diagnosis to ensure right treatment.

Are u being sent for ultrasound as well? It could be gallbladder issues also as it mimics gastritis pain.

PPI's, Nexium specifically, took away my reflux on day one. I have since had marginal but progressive improvement in my stomach pain the past 6 months. In addition, after 2 months, it visually cleared my stomach of any gastritis I had been suffering upon check-up endoscopy.

The endoscope went well

The nurse (the doctor had left already, before I awoke) told me the he saw bile in my stomach so I guess there a possibility of bile gastritis or bile reflux? She didn't have much more to say other than it looked clear.

I don't have the results of the biopsies yet. They prescribed a short course of sulfracate.

I have my gallbladder removed 2 months ago, but was having the pain 2 months before that.

Thank you for update. Hope your biopsies will be fine. I dissolved the sulfracate in apple cider to get it down. The ER recommended it.
