Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
Is it ok for us to eat dried fruits? Once in awhile I like to get a bag of trail mix with pineapple, raisins, cranberries and nuts etc. Not much... just a few pieces. But I'm wondering if this stuff is hard on our stomachs.
So far I really haven't found any foods that are damaging or causing pain. There probably are some, but they don't make a big difference for me. My doctor still has not restricted my diet.
We did a stomach MRI and they found nothing wrong except for a few cysts on my liver which have been there for years and have not changed. He tells me there is nothing much they can do for the esophageal spasms. They are just scary.... make you feel like it's your heart flipping around.
I'm happy to report that Pepzin GI is working well for me. In fact, I do not take any prescriptions anymore and rarely have to take anything OTC. Once in awhile some Tums or Zantac. I'm aware enough to know that this might not last long. There are still days of heart burn and some pain. My teeth sting and I have a bad taste in my mouth. But, generally things are better. I guess chronic means... lifelong.

I too take Pepzin, I think it helps too.i I'm not ready to drop my PPI cause I know it still have acid.
Every. Morning I drink a homemade brew of hot ginger and lemon tea. It helps with my digestion before my meals.
