Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
We are all much stronger than we realise- and though you may feel like you are running on empty- you DO have more strength and fight in you left...I am the first to say that what you're facing can be simply overwhelming at times but with a great deal of patience, strength and hard work you will make your way through this battle. Keep doing as much research as possible and remember that the more information you arm yourself with, the better prepared you will be to fight this! Sending you much strength and positive energy and hoping very much that tomorrow will be a brighter day for you....
Keep on hanging on....

To be honest my diet has been crap over the last couple of weeks, I've been eating sugary breakfast cereals, burgers, fatty sandwiches, huge amounts of bread at times, loads of soy milk, I think I've brought it on myself.
I'm back onto some well cooked brown rice, with a little fish boiled with it and slippery elm with every meal. The pain is bearable and I guess I just have to wait now and try and stay calm, let my stomach hopefully heal up.
It's ok if you are wanting to sneak food. I am guilty of doing it but I remember each time I do it I am setting myself back from healing if it disagrees with me. If I flare up, I knew the risk I was taking.
Please don't beat yourself up for wandering off the path. We ALL do it now and then. I over ate last night and have some discomfort today.
This is a condition that robs us of comfort eating at rough times.
I hope we can support one another without judgement in this room.
Maybe break it down to one day at a time. It can be less overwhelming . Please hang in there. We are here for you.
We all can stray from the diet. We are not perfect and the diet thing is hard! It is very tiring.
Gastritis is horrendous and depressing!
Just know most of us understand and do not judge you!
This is a hard road. Just do the best you can.
The hard disciplined approach is not easy!
I am glad you are back on track. Just keep doing it!
It doesnt help that when I do feel slightly better, my hunger kicks in and wants me to eat huge amounts.
But ye I haven't been anywhere near as strict as I need to be
