Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

My gastritis keeps flaring up and its very painful as you know. Ive found it difficult to find something safe to drink,as pop sets it off etc I was looking in the health shop and found some vanilla flavoured soya milk. Its ok and I think its anti-inflammatory too. I hope it does something for me,at least its got protein in. There are the Alpro yogurts etc too so I will have to see if I can get used to them.

Yes, I drink vanilla soy milk, and so far, have had no problems with it. I also occasionally enjoy coconut milk, but don't care for the coconut water.
I also use the plain soymilk in puddings, but I prefer the vanilla.
Right now I have a carton of Silk Very Vanilla soy milk in the fridge. Tastes delicious! :)

I haven't had the courage to even try to drink soda pop since my gastritis started in July.

Hi sunlovinmom thanks I will have to keep off that pop. It seems like soya is better. I can,t find the low acid coffee anywhere that some people have mentioned. I will have to get some coconut water. I once got the milk in a tin and it went like a solid paint so I will have to keep looking for a good one. I don,t know anymore what will sort out my gastritis though. Im fed up of the pain. I keep praying anyway.

i have some Silk vanilla...maybe i'll try a little...also my hubby brought home some fat free plain yogurt. i've got to get some nutrition in me. i feel so weak.

I had some soya milk today but it didn,t help. Im so tired and stressed too with the pain.
