Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
I can relate to the come and go pain. I have the same issues. And since I just had my hiatal hernia repaired it was major surgery, my diet has been liquids only. I have had a lot of cramping. So you are right to be frustrated by this. I know it seems like there is no end to the suffering. I guess all I can say is that we must be very careful what we eat. And even that still does not always matter. I would not give up as far as speaking to your doctor. See if you can get something to help you. I was giver carafate and it did help some. But not really long term. That is what was given me when I was hospitalized with it last month and it seemed to help. All I can say is good luck and keep talking to your doctor. And remember your not alone, I and I'm sure others have the same issues. Hope you feel better soon. Mary
