Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
I don't know about in other countries, but in the UK - conventional medicine is not holistic at all. Sadly a pill is their answer to everything. Every body part & illness is viewed & treated separately.
Hopefully in the future we can move to a more holistic & integrative approach combining lifestyle, nutrition, conventional (evidence based) medicine & complementary/alternative treatments.
In the meantime we must do the research & experimentation ourselves with an open-minded, yet skeptical approach.
Our health & well-being is our own responsibility. We might never reach 100% perfection again, but we can still make progress as best as possible.
From what I've read & chatted about on here is that even most Nutritionists & Naturopaths don't really have a clue with gastritis... they'll eagerly prescribe apple cider vinegar... or say eat only raw foods... Ummmm.... No thanks.
Hang on in there Littlemart. Keep asking questions. We're all here to support each other. So many of us have researched different parts of this gastritis puzzle - hopefully between us we can sort of figure it out!
Oh yes & nasty fast food joints on every corner here -even in small towns. Yuck.
I've heard from Polish friends that use of herbal treatments is really common in Poland. So hopefully that aspect & the wonderful fresh organic food will really suit you!
