Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

Doc's Visit

Got into my Gastro Doc early and he scheduled me for an endoscopy Tues the 27th. I"m worried because my symptoms are so different than before and they are constant. He also said the my liver felt enlarged!!!
My blood pressure spiked and I'm sure it will do the same thing the day of the procedure. I'm losing hope. This time I have burning below the sternum and pain there too, it also goes to the left and the right. I also feel a lot of pressure in my stomach these symptoms are much worse than before.

Breathe deep breaths, as much as you are able and try to stay calm. Tests can be very stressful. Please know, that gastritis symptoms can also change, increase and decrease over time. Especially when you are paying closer attention to them. Procedures are also frightening but the time will pass quickly and before you know it, you will have answers. Maybe not a lot of them, but ruling things out is sometimes even better than knowing what it is that plagues you. Either way, know you have support here and you are not alone. Keep posting and let us know how things are going. One step at a time, one day at a time. You will get through this.

Hi. I agree with Ravenfish. Breathe as deeply and calmly as you can. Often with any GI issue other organs can become sore as they pick up the slack. Good luck with the test. Answers are knowledge and power. We are all here to support you as best we can.
