Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

One of the symptoms I've been dealing with is feeling more dizzy/lightheaded after eating. I take a digestive aide but it doesn't stop the dizziness. Anyone else dealing with this?

Guess I should also mention feeling lethargic and blurred vision. Is this really gastritis?

Can't be sure but when mine is bad I do get lightheaded and very lethargic, it is usually accompanied by obvious stomach symptoms too though. Tiredness and dizziness can also just be a result of eating less during recovery also, I get tired very easily in the mornings ATM just because I'm not eating a lot

I have not come across blurred vision as a symptom ever. All the other ones, a definite yes.

I think you should run that one by your doctor.

Hello Lesley. I did see an opthamologist, and thank God every thing looks good. I do have dry eyes, which comes with age :), and I use drops that help. I've only found one other person on the GERD forum who also has/had blurred vision. When the dizzy/lightheaded symptom subsides the blurred vision also cease. Maybe some is from being on my computer researching relief from gastritis :).

Hi..

Oh my, I am not surprised the blurred vision could be another random symptom of gastritis! There are so many strange symptoms. If it goes away when your gastritis calms down too then you know that is the cause.

I'm so blessed in that I'm beginning to see improvement.

Woke up this morning, feeling anxious but not lightheaded/woosie...then I ate breakfast and the lightheaded/woosie feeling began.

Any others noticed this occurring after eating?
