Wow I thought I lost a lot of weight, 33 lbs now, I'm 103, do you take any nutritional supplemtments? I found if your digestion isn't working good. I'm eating 6 times a day, 3 full meals, 3 small meals, and I still can't gain weight.

Did your doctors every test you for gastric emptying study, I had that test after I felt like you, my test came back positive, they gave me some pills to stimulate the muscles and nerves in my stomach, maybe you can ask your dr about this test.

I don't think a CT shows a Gastritis. It should be tested with a gastroscopy!

Johngreen, I was diagnosed with "mild chronic inactive gastritis" this illness seems like anything but mild. Are you taking PPI medicines? I have incorporated pepzin gi as well. from what I understand it helps with healing the stomach lining which is key. Wishing all of us steady improvement and relief soon.

John green, the gastric emptying study is done this way, the day of the test you go to hospital nuclear mediocre dept. they feed you 2 scramble egg whites with a radioactive tracer in it, 2 slices of toast with jelly and 1 cup water, you lay on table, and they take films, then they do one every hr for 4 hrs, so bring a book, what the tracer does it follows the food in the stomach and sees how long it takes to empty into the small intestines. A normal stomach will empty between 1 1/2 to 2 hrs, mine after 4 hrs only emptied by 17%, which is not good. So my GI specialist put me on Domperidone which is a drug to stimulate the stomach muscles and the nerves to move the food out, I've only been on it for 2 months, I have to be very careful not to eat foods with fat they are harder to break done. I know some people on this broad posted they've been on this drug too. That's what makes you feel full all the time. I take 4 times a day before meals and bedtime. Hope your dr does the test for you.

Thanks rosebrook. The specialist i have been seeing has now ordered a colonoscopy, so we will see how that goes. i do always notice there is irratation below my belly button, and when i massage down there i feel much better.

needtobewell .. I am taking nexium 40mg in the morning and in the evening. what exactly is pepzin gi? does it work well? I have also been using DGL and aloe vera juice.

pepzin gi is zinc carnosine. I have been using it and have found that it helps but it is not a quick fix. It helps to heal the stomach lining. several others in the forum have recommended it also. I am using it with protonix 40mg per day. I purchased it online from Amazon.
