Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

coconut water/coconut milk?

Can anyone tell me the difference between these two? I happened to see a carton of coconut milk in the milk section of our local store. It looks like a carton of half and half. So I bought one and now I'm wondering if I made a mistake.

Haven't tried it yet. Want to hear from you first.

Coconut water is the clear juice from the middle of the coconut.

Coconut milk will contain strained coconut "meat", but should be low fat, since it's pretty watered down. It's a dairy alternative. It tastes like wallpaper paste to me.

Coconut cream is really good stuff :P

Personally I don't like coconut water and do like coconut milk, especially the unsweetened vanilla one. Unfortunately for whatever reason it hurts my stomach.... I've tried it several times and it just makes me flare - but I'm unusual it seems so it's worth a try :)

I love all things coconut. I drink full fat canned coconut milk. Never seen it in a carton. I guess that would be similar to oat or rice milk in texture then?
