Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
At first I was a fan of Ubiquinol, but it seems that every formulation of it out there makes me fatigued. It also seems that most studies that were done, were actually done with the older formulation - Ubiquinone.
With that in mind, the best deal right now seems to be Kirkland's CoQ10 300mg. It doesn't have any fancy "activators" that can interfere with other medications (like that pepper in Dr's Best version which amplifies other meds and can irritate the stomach), but it compensates for decreased absorption by tripling the quantity of CoQ10.
As I understand Kirkland CoQ10 is just 300mg of Ubiquinone encased in fat.
Also, it is USP-certified, which means it was inspected and contains exactly what it says in exact quantity specified, and absorbs as expected.
I guess Ubiquinol is supposed to absorb better for most people, but now I err on the side of caution and stick with Ubiquinone anyway just because of its age and all the tests that have been run on it.
