Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

I do want to note one other thing- I too had all the gallbladder tests and they all came back fine- it turned out I had food intolerances that were causing the pain. Please do what you can to keep your gallbladder- it is a critical organ! to get you a jump start look into bile supplements- they will help with the gas/bloating because bile is antimicrobial and keeps bacteria in the small intestine in check. good luck!
Thanks for taking the time to respond! I saw a functional medicine nurse practitioner four or five times last year who also suggested SIBO (and mast cell disease) but then because bloating wasn't among my symptoms I guess we didn't do further testing. I will check more about it. I've since moved and the insurance I have doesn't cover chiropractors or acupuncturists but I'll look further into seeing if I can invest in another functional health professional in this area.
I hope to convince one of the doctors I see to offer a vitamin b12 test since that's one avenue that hasn't been explored yet.
Oddly enough, in the past week I began to spontaneously feel better. For the first time in a year I've gone a week without any medication. It's unexpected because the day I began to feel better I was traveling and ate a lot of things that are terrible for gastritis due to a lack of better options.
I doubt it'll last, but it's kind of a shock to not be in pain every day.
Thanks also for the facebook reference. I joined the group. The topics seem to be quite diverse.
Thanks again for your input!
