Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
Don't eat white chocolate so not too sure
If you want to heal you have to stop the treats and stick to the very plain diet for a long time or else you will keep going backward.
The longer you have gastritis the longer it takes to heal. Do the hard work now.
i can eat a lot of stuff like granola bars biscuits yogurts cold cereals..etc. but those things are just irritating to the gut even if you dont feel it. Though coconut yogurt/milk (canned) might be a really good thing...
as of now im eating tons of eggs, tons of rice, low fib veggies, gluten free pasta , crackers and biscuits as snacks. these things are soothing to me. low acid low fiber is how you heal gastritis. I plan to stick to it for a year or two until im fully healed though im thinking of dropping all the snacks soon ! I dont want to take any risks.
note i use nothing but pepzin gi and slippery elm and im sure my gastritis is much worse than most of you !
take pepzin gi with a meal works better in my case and slippery elm on an empty stomach middle of the night or first thing in the morning.
I wish i could take an acid reducer at night though !
I also manage my gastritis the natural route only.I do the slippery elm as well.I take 2 caps last thing at night instead of my evening flaxseed tea now.Seems to work so far:)
I recommend use the powder which you buy by the pound mix it with hot boiling water itll make a paste like tea like oatmeal works much better imo.
insoluble fiber is bad but soluble...carrots/oatmeal fiber(soluble) is good...but oatmeal has too much insoluble too !
