Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
Do keep a diet that does not upset your stomach (this is trial and error....and I find that even some foods that I could not tolerate in the early stages I can tolerate now ..like boiled eggs).
My advise is to get into the mindset that this situation will improve slowly with time but for right now you have to take it day by day until you get there. I tried a lot of stuff (acupuncture + natural supplements etc....) and meds but I really think that none of that stuff really worked....the stomach will heal on its own pace.
I was on a strong PPI (dexilant 60mg) at the beginning then over 6-7 month period tapered down to 30mg once a day and then to Nexium and now I am trying to just take otc pepcid Ac. I did get a lot of good results from taking a daily probiotic (I still take it...i think it helps my digestion).
Hang in there and be good to your belly! I know this illness sucks but eventually you will come out on the other side!
What foods can I eat or just see how my body reacts?
