Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

Boiled eggs

Is anyone bothered by boiled eggs or simple egg salad? I used to be able to eat any kind of eggs, but boiled eggs always bothered me at night. But now it seems like they kind of give me some GERD anytime. I thought eggs were one of our safe foods.

And... can you have this pain in the esophagus without heartburn?? I think I might have asked this before. Not sure if these are esophageal spasms but the pain comes without any kind of heartburn or sick feeling. Just pain.

Used to eat an egg salad on toast sandwich for breakfast until gastritis struck. Then got such nausea I haven't been able to eat since. Liked scrambled eggs until gastroparesis test when I had to eat them with the radio isotope and got horribly sick during test with nausea and headache. Now I can't eat them either. So sad to miss favorite foods. My problem was mostly nausea rather than active pain.

Soft boiled egg is fine for me but not hard boiled.

Yes you can get pain in the esophagus without heartburn, I rarely get heartburn, I get the pain up the front but it is still reflux acid but in silent mode.
