Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
What sort of symptoms do you have? were is the pain located?Just wondering is bile gastritis were the bile irritates the duodenum. I have an acid pain everyday around what I think is the top of the duodenum and wondering if it's duodenitis? have you had an endoscopy?.... Prays to all :)
Bile Acid Binder - questran
Digestive Enzymes - Ones containing HCL and no ox-bile
Anti-depressant - opinional
If you're on a PPI, you may want to stop that. PPI's will worsen the condition. Bile reflux is a condition that affects your digestion. Bile in the stomach is neutralizing the acid that your stomach produces to digest your food and prohibiting proper digestion. Food ends up fermenting in the stomach causing indigestion, heartburn, nausea, etc. In other words, you're suffering from 'low stomach acid.' Get the acid production in your stomach going, which why I recommend the digestive enzymes. Taking a bile acid binder could help cutting back on the amount of bile refluxing into the stomach. Carafate to protect the lining and a anti-depressant to help deal with the pain. If all fails, then the surgery is your only option. Here in the states, a duodenal switch is fairly common. If it came to it, you could have the surgery here with more experienced surgeons. It would be worth it, Better than feeling miserable all the time.
