Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
Not sure about the hormones, but it's sure a possibility.

I know I've been lucky as I've not craved any of the foods I couldn't eat. Its like my body knows what isn't right for me. When I do try new foods I have the smallest amount. I had 3 snow peas yesterday, cooked within an ince of the lives and so far so good. I'll try bok choy again over the weekend and then take another run at snow peas.
Hang in there and please, please try to change your diet for now and see if it does make a difference. I hate to see you suffering so much pain.
Take care,
cas
As I mentioned elsewhere on this forum, I take Neurontin for my fibromyalgia, and found by accident that it sometimes helps. It's a prescription med, of course, and you'll want to check it out with your doc.
Sipping on chamomile tea is very soothing, too. Sometimes a nap helps!

I'm in Australia.
The only thing that eases my gastritis pain is a wheat bag nice and warm on my belly and sometimes bicarb (cooking) soda can help. I can't take anything stronger than paracetamol and they do nothing so I don't bother with them etiher.
We call it eggplant or aubergine. Courgettes for us in Oz are zucchini. I can tell you one thing for sure...I'd never need a reason to NOT eat Haggis. I may have Scottish blood but that was four generations ago! LOL
