Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

I have Gastritis to what appears to be around a year and half. I get pretty mild discomfort at various times, mainly if I ate something that did not go well. I dont have to rush to the bathroom,, just some slight discfomfort. Seems it happens during the night when I am sleeping. I have been on Famotidine and Omoprazole.

I spoke to the doctor and he communicated to me that he cannot say it is even gastritis I guess because of how long I have been on the meds. He was thinking it could be stomach spasms. He prescribed me DICYCLOMINE (10MG). He still said I can continue to just take Omprazole in the morning. I have a follow up in 6 weeks.

Had an Endoscopy back March 2014....diagnosed with gastritis and esophagatis. Starting to lose my mind!!!!!!
