Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
Things it over, check it out and I hope you find the answers you seek soon.
Thanks Ravenfish... you could be right. And since everyone seemed to have no issues with it, I am giving it a try again and hopefully it is a case of "all in my mind".....
Sincerely hope you begin to feel better soon!
I believe it is safe to take up to 10 capsules a day. Because I've been doing that for a while, and because 80mg zinc per day is "allowable".
Serious problems would start with 150mg zinc per day (that would be 19 capsules) taken for several months.
Also, the two other supplements which use PepZin GI and can be tremendously helpful are Gastromend HP (the nuclear bomb of all stomach supplements) and Ulcetrol.
I use the above stronger ones when I mess up by eating something "tough", but other than that, I try to stick to PepZin GI alone, and sometimes Swanson Stomach Defense Essentials (which also has PepZin GI).
Since the latter two contain mastic gum, you shouldn't eat for an hour after taking them, and then take probiotic with food.
It doesn't create dependency either. However its use will allow you to process more foods and protect stomach lining, and stomach lining recovery is a long process that takes months and months.
