It could be your emotions saying not yet. Wait a bit and when you feel brave, try just a little. If it helps, make yourself a list of all the things you have tried with success and keep it with you, so when you feel down you can see just how far you have already come. But remember most of all, you have to do it in your own time and until then, just know one day you WILL get there.

I haven't had a lot of 'new' foods, but I'm very careful when I do try them. One thing I do is start with a very small amount--even a bite or two, and see how that goes the next day. i find whenever I try something new, it takes about a day to figure out if it went well.

yes I do but as I am eating the pain from the anxiety goes away.its never a whole lot of pain. just a little bit.

This is to do with the IBS but since some in here have that too I chose to post it here. I was going fairly well with the IBS but once again the sands have shifted and taken once again my confidence with them. I'm very careful when trying new foods also. I only have the tiniest morsel to start with. The gastritis and IBS respond so differently and the IBS is, as always doing my head in. Nothing seems to be working just now. I'm going backwards and am just so over this whole ordeal. Like you all I'm tired of starting over again and again. I have no choice of course but oh boy do I wish I did.
Every time I start to feel super positive about things the IBS pulls me down so quickly. I don't ever take my advances for granted and am aware I'll live with this for life. I only wish it would play fair now and then.
Well I guess thats my spleen vented for today.

Chin up. Take a few deep breaths and remind yourself there are road-blocks, but you have been here before. And it is okay to give yourself a break for awhile and just walk away from it. Stick to some safe foods for a few days (the full-proof ones) and even if it has to be the same thing for a week, try to get your mind off it all. It seems like it is a bit overwhelming right now- a few days away and it will probably look better. You know where I am whenever you need me. Always.

thanks raven. I just don't know how to get my head around the IBS roller coaster ride. The flare up has gone but the IBS is still giving me some grief in the mornings despite all the advances I had made. OH well I'm usually ok by mid morning or lunch time!

Im sorry soretum that you are getting such problems with your IBS. I used to suffer terrible with it about five years ago. Now its the other way round,as you know the gastritis. When I had a bad time with IBS it was the left side of my colon cramping up. I used to have linseed grains from the health shop,yogurts and wholemeal bread. I didn't have too much bread though. I used to be on Mebeverine tablets. I stuck it out for ages then it just went and gradually I could eat anything I wanted,until the gastritis. I hope you can find a way to master it.

Your body feels that you should not eat it. Garlic and garlic bread will give you stomach pain for sure I even throw up from it.

I only try new food when my stomach feels exceptionaly good. Than I usualy end up with stomach problems and throwing up for couple day and return back to usual staff for long time till I forget how bad it was and feel risky enough to try new staff again. I do not try mexican or japanese food even in the best moments. I can try something italian or things like that in those moments.

Chnese may be, but mexican and japanese no way.
