Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
I've been going through the posts here and taking notes. It helps so much.
Someone had mentioned Boost, since nutrition becomes an issue for us. And even with my tummy in volcanic mode, it didn't cause me any discomfort at all. I bought the one that is lactose and gluten free.
If you don't already know Chamomile tea is wonderful for your stomach, aids in digestion, and is a mild muscle relaxer, which helps keep you calm. We sure need that when going through this.
Ginger might irritate your stomach, too.. It did for me, but we're all different. Good luck and best wishes.
I tried Aloe Vera in many forms. I tried fresh but I found it very unpleasant. Also there is a toxin in the leaf you want to avoid. So I bought a bottle trying to find one that was as little acidic as possible. The best I could find was a bottle of Ph between 3.6 and 4. And I did not feel good taking it. So I stopped. It felt astringent. Also I tried aloe vera for many different things in the past (sun burn etc) and never found that it did much of anything.
