Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
Seafood restaurant. I can go now to one and order 'peel and eat' shrimp ordered plain (no seasonings) and with a baked potato, or sweet potato and I won't get ill, have a good time and feel normal about going to a restaurant. I can also order steamed clams and mussels and be fine too.
To me I feel I got this from drinking acidic juice orange juice and lemonade and I think I topped it off with eating some okra pickles at night. I should have never done that. My stomach just can't handle it as I can see. Lesson learned!
I think your diet is fine, you just should add rice and potatoes good source of carbohydrates. I personally have high metabolism and I need a good amount of food or I loose weight very quickly. Already I have lost 15 pounds and I can't recover the weight because I can't eat anything that can make me gain weight. This tells me that fat and junk food is what can make one overweight.
'Finally I had enough' I was just not getting better, only sicker and it was costing me a FORTUNE
So I went on a plain basic food plan, went on a plant based natural strict probiotic regime, very slowly decreased my medications and am happy to say, i am off all medications, no stomach pain, bloating down and back in the land of living again...
I was desperately, sick, getting sicker by the week, I did my research and finally took a leap of faith and it change my life...
I had Hpylori many years ago. It was horrible. I got real sick but fortunately it was detected with the endoscopy. So I went on the antibiotic and then I had to take antiacids for a while. It took me a few months to feel normal but I fully recovered with no issues.
This beast now is not due to Hpylori. I wish it was Hpylori! Looking back I think that was a piece of cake compared to this. This of recovering from ulcers is way way worse.
I have had gastritis now for nearly a year. Is to have beeen brought on by my excessive consumption of ibuprofen.
I have had very intermittent acute attacks of varying length and I am fine in between,Which no doubt explains why am on no medication whatsoever.
I completely agree about the conflicting advice found on the net but tickly about things like ginger and peppermint and even drinking water.
There appears to be no reason for my continued acute attacks the doctor said the chickens were eating spicy food smoking and drinking which I don’t to except for the very occasional glass of wine which I don’t have at all anymore, and stress and he said pure bad luck which He said he couldn’t mitigate for.
He also told me to lose a further two stone and then I might be rid of it altogether. The original Attack last July was brought on he said by a virus and then me taking ibuprofen, But I have always been a big taker of ibuprofens! Ithen lost about 2 1/2 stone over the next couple of months because I didn’t know what to eat I didn’t want to eat and I was Purely afraid to eat.
He feels if I lost at least another two stone and I privative the gastritis completely but I’m not doing very well on that.
I did take Nexium when I had an attack Christmas time and after three days I was looking quite yellow so stopped taking it.
