Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
I know there are a million post of these but looking for some reassurance.
I was diagnosed with bought of gastritis in October and started feeling better after a round of ppi's, diet changes and antacids that the doc had me follow. I was never scoped they attributed to the use of NSAID's and aspirin.
I had my gallbladder removed at the start of January, which wasn't an issue until the diagnosis of gastritis.
After surgery they gave me Lortab/Norco (Hydrocodone) and after a week of taking them as prescribed I started having the gastritis feeling again, and eating burger. I immediately stopped taking them.
Has anyone heard of Hydrocodone causing gastritis?
I'm feeling better and able to eat almost anything I want, but I have this crushing chest pressure on my left and hurts along the ribs from the breastbone to the back. Occasionally I feel my left side spasm. Sometimes I get a stabbing pain along the rib line.
I don't feel like I have a reflux or a burning stomach. I was getting flushed after eating and sweaty.
Lately I've been getting a gastric itch.
Has anyone had anything similar before?
I have an appointment on the 22nd of Feb with my gastro doc to get it checked out. He thought it could be an ulcer.

Nip it in the bud now. You are on the cusp. You can get rid of it quickly if you are very careful. And quickly means about a month.
Never have come across anything about hydrocodone and gastritis.
My gastro meeting is actually the 16th, hooray for that.
Hydrocodone has other names, I think Norco, Lortab and I'm sure others. They told me it was harsh on the stomach.
The last few days have gotten worse.
This morning when I ate my body felt like fire after the first swallow. Made me feel shaky and uneasy.
