Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
As far as what to drink, I am an herbal studies student. I have been soothing my chronic gastritis for 3+ yrs with marshmallow root tea and flaxseed tea. One or both should be avail at your larger groc store in the natural foods section or at any herbal shop.
I make it up by the gallon and keep it in the fridge then warm it to room temp in the microwave and keep it by the bed, soothing in the middle of the night.
Giving up coffee and tea was the hardest part.
I've tried a few herbal teas, like ginger and camomile as suggested by others, but it didn't make my stomach feel any better. Fresh carrot juice too, was recommended to me but made my tummy sore also. trial and error, of course!
