Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

So, had the Endoscopy and Colonoscopy. Didn't really uncover much. Some mild diverticuli. In the stomach, it looked good, but there was some "Mild Gastritis". OK, with all the stomach issues, I was expecting, Major Flaming Gastritis. So I'm not sure if Mild Gastritis is causing all my trouble or not and if not, what else could be bothering me. Could there be some other underling factor....like my heart?? I have lupus, could that be flaring? Allergy season...any possibility?

So I'm curious if anyone has experience with "mild gastritis" and stomach pain. They think I have a sinus infection or allergies going, but they put me on Zithromax. Of course anything I put in my gut causes me concern that it will flare something up.

You have all been great, curious on your thoughts.

It is the biggest flaw with the diagnosis. They say mild like a pandol will ease the pain. Trust me our hideous pain constitutes 'mild' by the medicos.
Makes no sense. How do you balance the two diets required for diverticulitis and gastritis?

I lost your meaning...come again? I seen the redness in a couple areas, but it wasn't infused throughout.

Mild just relates to the damage it has done t the stomach, so it is good that it is mild and there are no ulcers or deep inflammation. That means it will heal quicker than otherwise.

Many people do not have symptoms frm mild gastritis its true, but I am unfortunately not one, and my 'mild' gastritis felt like a searing pain every time I ate. So you aren't alone, there are the unlucky ones among us that feel a lot of pain from our stomachs. I think of it as a bit like IBS but with the stomach.

Imagine someone with IBS that was very sensitive in their bowels and they developed actual inflammation there, it would hurt a lot, and that's basically what some of us go through with gastritis.
