Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
It is a good habit to keep up. Yes I have missed a dose here or there but I always remember as some point in the day and take them. If you are not used to taking them keep them out where you can see them. I leave mine on top of the Microwave in the kitchen eye level!!!
Vitamins are VERY important after surgery and will be a part of daily life from now on.
I of course with my different story here was also a daily vitamin taker for most of my adult life preop. My blood work post op though showed my calcium to be way to high.......people think this is no big deal but at 46 I started with osteopenia sp? If I had just started popping calcium because it is part of the regimen I would sure enough have heart disease , ostio perosis , I do have a calcium cluster in one kidney already and I had 2 in my breast that were a nightmare getting biopsied. due to loss of density. Mine was caused possibly by parathyroid disease which is common in women. I still 3 yrs post op do not take calcium because to much is just as bad as not enough.
