I swear I keep running into trouble, you would think I was 14 years old again (as I was always in trouble back then...lol). Lets recap, 4 weeks ago the surgeon had to open up my incision and clean it out due to tunneling not healing and a little bit of infection.

3 Weeks ago while the nurse was changing my wound vac the wound started bleeding and we could not get it to stop. Lost around a half gallon of blood before getting it stitched up. Blood pressure tanked due to blood loss, trauma from starting the stitching with no pain meds, a bit of dehydration and finally the pain meds.

2 Weeks ago I started having some issues' with swallowing. I had some pain, not bad pain but just a pain when I swallowed food or even water. Some solid foods didn't agree with me after eating, like chicken, fish, turkey. I would get three to four bites and get sick, I didn't know what was going on. However, soup with vegetables and chicken or turkey with it did not bother me (still hurt to swallow though). Talked to my surgeon about it and he ordered an endoscopy.

1 Week ago I had the endoscopy done and low and behold a stricter, no biggie, Doc just stretched it out and all is good...right?....Nope, also had an Ulcer that was causing pain. So now I'm back on Prilosec (which I had been on for 12 years and finally got off of) which sucks and now I have to take Carafate for the pain. This stuff sucks, causes constipation (which I already have enough issues with taking a dump), nausea, vomiting (got kinda used to that here recently) and other issues. Then while shopping with my wife I passed out (I never pass out without help damnit) come to find out I needed my blood pressure meds lowered, now wonder I felt like crap all the time. Damn it just seems I can't win.

Now for the better side of the story......The wound is healing nicely, it's finally flat and the would vac should be gone in a week...YAY!!! I am down 97 pounds since Nov 6, 2014. I seem to be slowing down now but, that was to be expected, you lose, you stop losing, you gain one or two pounds, next week you lose 6 pounds, the next two or three weeks you lose nothing the following you lose 10 pounds, it's like a game...lol. So all in all I am doing good, these minor set backs have not slowed me down one bit. I'm like John Wayne kicking Cowboy's and Cancer's ass....:) I always look forward to stepping on the scale every Sunday and see what I have lost, it's kinda funny cause I am always placing bets on myself as to if I lost or not so I make it a game for myself...lol
