Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Have you had a bowel movement? Is you menstral cycle starting soon? Have you eaten a lot of salt recently that would make you retain water? Were you wearing more clothing when you stepped on the scale?
Stay on track and maybe wait a week before getting on the scale again. You've done an amazing job and I know you will reach your one year anniversary goal.

If you are doin' the deal, it will slip back off as quickly as it came. As the others have said, lots of things other than fat can affect the scale.
You'll get there, hon! Breathe!!

I'm addicted to the scale but my surgeon told me to expect variances and I was actually surprised the number he gave for normal. He and his associate also told me get rid of the scale but I don't freak out but I like to see how my body reacts to stuff.
