Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
I also did the elliptical for 10 minutes a session several times a day.

My favorite gym equipment is the treadmill, bike and elliptical. I can not wait!
I am also a fan of walking. I was given a pedometer almost 3 years ago now, and I still wear it daily. The goal was to reach at least 10,000 step a day, and most days I do more like 15,000...but i started literally walking around my back yard.
Best exercising advice I ever had was from my surgeon, pre-op. I've shared it here before, but for anyone who hasn't heard it..."Do a little more tomorrow than you did today." That way you aren't comparing yourself to some standard you THINK you should be at, or comparing yourself to others progress. A few more steps, one more lap around the house, or a block further down the street may be progress for you. Adding in biking or weights could be it for someone else...but a little more tomorrow adds up.
I dropped 140# and am 2 1/2 years post op and going strong. Even now, however, I still think about upping what I do.

I'm also going to try a zumba class. I have the CD and have done it in my home. I think it might be more fun with other people.
Good luck with whatever you do. Remember... showing up is half the battle.
